Karson Putt, Ph.D.

COO/interim CEO

Dr. Karson S. Putt is the Managing Director of the Institute for Drug Discovery at Purdue University.  Dr. Putt has experience in both academic and industrial drug discovery/development.  He has published over 30 scientific articles and has over several dozen US patents/patents pending.  He founded his first company at 16 years of age and has translated several drugs into human clinical trials.  Dr. Putt received his B.S. in Biology and A.S. in Chemistry from Purdue University and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UIUC. 

Phil Low, Ph.D.

CSO and co-founder

Dr. Philip S. Low is the Presidential Scholar for Drug Discovery and the Ralph C. Corley Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Purdue University.  Dr. Low has spent over 45 years exploring: 

  1. the structure, function, and pathologies of the erythrocyte membrane,
  2. targeted therapeutic and imaging agents for multiple human diseases (including several cancers, autoimmune, infectious, and inflammatory diseases), and
  3. signal transduction across plant cell membranes. 


He has published over 470 scientific articles and has over 360 US patents/patents pending.  Multiple drugs stemming from his research are undergoing human clinical trials and seven companies (Endocyte Inc., OnTarget Laboratories Inc., HuLow LLC, Novosteo Inc., MorphImmune Inc., Eradivir Inc., and ErythroCure Inc.) have been founded to commercialize these discoveries.  Dr. Low received his B.S. in Chemistry from BYU and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UCSD. 

Francesco Turrini, M.D.

co-founder

Dr. Francesco M. Turrini is a Professor and the Scientific Director of the Proteomics facility at the University of Turin.  Dr. Turrini has spent decades studying the regulation of erythrocytes and developing new treatments for blood-borne pathogens.  He has overseen clinical trials in multiple  countries and has published over 100 scientific articles.  Dr. Turrini received his M.D. in Medicine and Surgery.
